One Block Wonders at Sew Nice

I finished up the design portion of a One Block Wonder class I taught at Sew Nice in Norwich, NY.  It was a great class with 11 wonderful creative women.  We had loads of fun!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I just want to dive into these blocks, looks like water to me.

How big were your Hexs ? I’ve done 3 3/4″ but I would like to go bigger. I know it all depends on your repeats. Just curious about the ones in red, black and gray. Thanks and keep up the good work

In the class I just taught everyone cut their strips 3 3/4 inches. It is not necessarily the size of the repeat but the size of the design elements that determine the size the strips should be. If you have flowers that are 6 inches or bigger you could probably cut your strips larger for larger blocks. I always tell students if your design elements are smaller than 4 inches your blocks will look like the original fabric because you are not taking apart the design. Does that make sense?
