Spring has finally sprung here in Central New York. I spent the last week in March in North Carolina with Deb Tucker and my fellow Studio 180 Design Certified Instructors (CI’s). We meet up every year to continue our Studio 180 education. It is one of my favorite gatherings. It is so good to see everyone again. We learn so much from each other. We are more like a family than CI’s.

The best part was we got to play with Deb’s new tool coming out at Spring Market, it’s fabulous!
The other best part of my trip was spending time with my Sons Jason & Josh, whom I love and adore!
On the way home I stopped in Virginia Beach and taught a Northern Neighbors class. We had such a good time!
I sure miss you guys!
When I got home it was my determination to paint my quilt studio aptly named “Tuckerville”!
Painting paneling is horrible! But this room was so dark I couldn’t stand it anymore. I chose what I consider to be a happy color “Aqua Chiffon”!
The stairwell is bright now! You can see the Joyce McCorduck (my mother) memorial Shultz & Dooley display. The girls to welcome you at the bottom of the stairs, along with one of my brooms for a fast get away! And, Grandma Bessie’s quilt watching over me!
It is a long room, with places to sew and 2 cutting stations, a design wall, not to mention a comfortable couch and big TV. I love the new color.
I want to introduce you to the “Mayor of Tuckerville”
Her name is Tucker, Tuck for short, because she has already tucked herself in my heart. I pick her up in a few weeks, there will be more pictures to follow.

I had such a great time at the CI reunion. It was so nice to spend time with you, and getting to know everyone better. The photo of us together – priceless and well don’t we just make a fine pair. Dan included! Looks like April is paint your sewing space month and yours looks mighty fine with its make over. Love your puppy, and sending it a squeeze from Canada.

I had the pleasure of attending a presentation on the Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star technique by one of your fellow CI’s here in Wisconsin yesterday. It convinced me; I bought the ruler and the Hidden Treasures book and can’t wait to try them out! Your workspace looks great and Tucker’s a sweetie! I have a Tucker too, only he’s a 55 pound Golden Retriever! Can’t wait to see more photos of your new little furbaby!

Her name was Phyllis Fay, from Stitchin’ in the Ditch in Antioch, IL. Her presentation was one of 16 or so that we had to choose from at the annual Lodi Valley Quilt Academy. Very inspiring! There was another lady working at their vendor stand, but I didn’t get her name. Thank you for your offer to help if I have any problems! 😊

We must have the exact same basement! I have the exact same ceiling and paneling, and I recently painted it an off white. It’s where I keep my long arm and supplies, and it was so depressingly dark and dingy. Painting the paneling brightened things up quite a bit down there and made such a difference. As you said it was a pain, but I know you’ll love and enjoy the space so much more that it will be well worth all your hard work! Your finished photos are beautiful! What a change… 🙂
