This morning was very cool, somewhere in the 40’s. My sister Mary and I were heading out for a day spent outside. I kept hearing about the wild turkeys, and this time I saw them! There in the yard a Tom and Mom and about 10 teenaged turkeys. They took one look at me and ran into the woods.
If you look hard you can see what appears to be turkeys on the run.
Trenton Falls is only open 3 times a year. It is a main water source for Utica, NY. Trenton Falls was founded by the Sherman/Moore family in the early 1800’s.
This is the Sherman/Moore Cemetery located along the path to the falls.
A barn also along the path.
The water is level is low this time of year.
It is a beautiful path. It is about a mile up to the high falls. I plan to come back next month when the leaves are changing to take more pictures.
Next we went to Barge Canal Bike and Walking path in Marcy. What a great path. There were many bikers, joggers and walkers out today.
Lock 21. When we were kids is was summer time entertainment to get an Ice cream cone and go to one of the locks and watch boats or barge be lifted by water along the canal.
Here the lock is being filled so this boat from Naples Florida can continue on its journey.
I find this fascinating to watch.
The lock if full and the gates are opening.
Here he comes.
And there he goes.
These paths go from Lake Erie to Albany!
Map Legend. I’ll be moving into my new house in a couple of weeks. I can’t wait to get my studio set up and get back to quilting!
What a beautiful place you live in. I also love to walk but we have nothing remotely similar to where you are. I live near the beach on the Gold Coast, on the Eastern coast of Australia,
I love to read your stories. Kind regards. Robyn.

Thank you so much Robyn for writing. I have watched HGTV’s House-hunters International and have seen the Gold Coast. It is beautiful there.
